Rose Ann Dimalanta, alias rad., has built up a loyal following since she arrived on the European scene in 1992. The Bay Area native began playing piano at the young age of 4, nurturing a love for music which ultimately led to her jazz studies at U.C. Berkeley. The West Coast environment allowed her to grow up listening to and ultimately playing with legendary musicians like Pete Escovedo, Benny Velarde (Cal Tjader), Orestes Vilato, Ray Obiedo, Rebeca Mauleon, and David Garibaldi, among others. Rad. joined Prince's band in mid 2003 and toured with Prince & the NPG until spring 2004.

Recorded at the legendary Fantasy Studios in Berkeley, CA, Higher Plane is rad.'s most personal recording to date. A thoughtful mixture of soul, latin and funk, rad. manages to mesh gut-wrenching groove and intellect with her own musical signature. Higher Plane will ease you from a loud Saturday night into a sunny Sunday morning, and still allow you to be painfully hip.
